What Product or Services Marketing contributes to Cardinal Health
Marketing assesses customer needs, market conditions and competition to inform business strategy. This function implements the business strategy by developing and commercializing products and services and managing them throughout their full life cycles.
Product or Services Marketing is responsible for defining the product/service and market strategy and life cycle management including customer need identification, market research, product or service offering, pricing, positioning, promotion, branding and distribution to drive customer loyalty, sales growth and improved profitability.
Job Summary
The Global Portfolio Manager will support the development and execution of critical projects and commercialization strategies across several business units. We are seeking a team member who is motivated to learn, able to adapt to new ways of thinking, believes in customer- and patient-centric marketing, and capable of delivering on business commitments in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
Utilize market trends, customer and clinical needs, and competitive positioning to develop recommendations on product line rationalization, harmonization, and retirement
Support assessment of manufacturers and suppliers to optimize product sourcing mix and portfolio profitability
Execute primary and secondary research to drive portfolio/product decisions and identify market opportunities for preferred product offerings in targeted segments and channels
Support development of the global product strategy, in collaboration with regional, channel, and global marketing leaders
Support upstream marketing activities, including new product development, portfolio planning, product management, branding, and commercialization across all global regions
Work closely with global, regional, and cross-functional partners to drive strategic portfolio plans, global manufacturing and supply chain alignment, global commercial enablement, and franchise brand management
Understand and manage product supply, quality, labeling, and specifications for existing products
Ensure that promotional, launch, and marketing activities align with overall portfolio strategy
Utilize strong financial acumen and analytical skills, sound thought processes as they relate to assessing financial implications/outlook and developing business cases, as well as logical decision-making in the general business environment
Qualifications
4+ years of experience, preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Healthcare or medical product management experience, preferred
Experience with Oracle Agile and SAP, preferred
Financial acumen with an ability to analyze and interpret data
Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
Ability to travel up to 10%

Anticipated salary range: $78,500 - $112,100
