Distinguishing Features of the Class
The principal function of an employee in this class is to lead the WRF equipment maintenance functions and coordinate the maintenance and repair activities associated with electrical, electronic, vibration, infrared imaging, data collection and analysis. This position will plan equipment repairs using reports and a computerized maintenance management system.
Acceptable Experience and Training
Graduation from high school; and
Five (5) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment, including calibration of gauges, meters and controls, and machine train vibration troubleshooting, alignment, and balancing; and
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a lead/supervisory capacity.
Up to two (2) years of related technical education may be substituted for up to two (2) years of required experience.

Required Special Qualifications
Candidates for positions in this class must pass a post-employment offer physical examination and drug screen.
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued by the State of Iowa.

Examples of Essential Work (Illustrative Only)
Lead a crew consisting of skilled Electrician Instrumentation Technicians and Electronic Technicians in maintaining and repairing electrical and electronic components and controls found within the wastewater reclamation facilities and at various remote pumping stations.
Lead and perform data collection and analysis for predictive maintenance.
Inspect electrical and electronic equipment being installed to ensure proper operation and compliance with contract specifications.
Lead and participate in the bench repair of electronic components, gauges, and signaling devices for various types of equipment and establish vibration measurement definitions and parameters.
Lead and maintain baseline deviation records to initiate corrective actions for malfunctions and forecast defects and failures.
Provide input and maintain a regular equipment preventive maintenance program.
Prepare and maintain reports and provide summaries of performed work, time, material, and equipment used for entry into computerized maintenance management system.
Review and recommend schedules of calibration and repair work in accordance with staff advice and reports.
Ensure employee compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Perform other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.
