Brief Job Overview

This position is a hands-on non-supervisory position responsible for picking, packing, and shipping orders of USP products to ensure the right products get to the right place at the right time. You will be responsible for supporting both internal and external stakeholders, including freight forwarders and 3rd party fulfillment vendors, to ensure timely delivery and quality of shipments. This position will also assist with the continuous improvement of Distribution procedures and support training of junior Distribution team members.

The (Senior) Distribution Specialist has the following responsibilities:

• Responsible for the efficient, timely, and accurate preparation of outbound shipments to domestic and international customers.

• Pulls, picks, and packs orders to ensure accuracy and quality of products for shipping.

• Communicates and coordinates with internal USP departments (e.g., Customer Service, Trade Compliance, DEA Compliance, IT) and 3rd party fulfillment vendors/freight forwarders to support shipments of USP products.

• Provides support to internal USP departments on customer inquiries, complaints, and internal product investigations.

• Ensures all shipments are processed and packaged to meet the requirements of IATA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies.

• Assist in resolving problems that occur with orders processing, including, but not limited to reprinting required documents, inspection of IATA and DOT packaging.

• Support Distribution Supervisor for training staff and with the implementation of new processes and procedures.

• Supports Inventory Team with inventory cycle counts.

• Performs other duties as assigned when needed.

Distribution Specialist

  • A high school diploma is required

  • Minimum of 3 years pick and pack orders processing

  • Minimum of 2 years of handling of pharmaceutical products

  • Familiar with use of Carrier’s shipping software and requirements

  • Familiar with requirements for domestic and international shipping.

  • IATA and DOT Certified for the shipping of hazardous materials

  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.

  • Ability to work in a cold environment

Senior Distribution Specialist

  • A high school diploma/Associates Degree

  • Minimum of 5 years pick and pack orders processing

  • Minimum of 3 years of handling of pharmaceutical products

  • Experience with Oracle EBS or other ERP systems

  • Project management experience.

  • IATA and DOT Certified for the shipping of hazardous materials

  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.

  • Ability to work in a cold environment

Additional Desired Preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management.

  • 5 years of pick, pack, and shipment

  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle as relating to order

  • Knowledge of 3 rd party fulfillment services.

  • Knowledge of Procurement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None. This is an individual contributor role.
