  • Location: Holy Cross Health has two hospitals and four healthcare centers all a short driving distance from Washington DC and Baltimore, MD

Description:

  • Full – Time (Monday - Friday - 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm with 1 Saturday & 1 Sunday a month.)

  • Location: Germantown, MD

  • Protection Services Department

  • Supervisors must manage a shift of Officers and direct their duties and assignments on a daily basis.

  • This position reports to the Security Manager Operations

Responsibilities:

  • Supervisors are required to: prepare work schedules for their shift.

  • Will assess and evaluate activities of the shift and make appropriate decisions based on circumstances. Must interact with the community and county agencies.

  • Supervisors patrol all interior and exterior areas of Holy Cross Hospital (HCH) - owned or leased properties.

  • Must participate in all training and development programs.

  • Supervisor must be able to assume the Manager of Operations' duties in his/her absence.

  • Protection Services Supervisor must be courteous with customers at all times and be able to mediate disputes in a professional manner.

What you will need:

Required:

  • Must have a high school diploma. Associates degree is strongly preferred.

  • Must possess a valid drivers' license.

  • Must be Basic Life Safety (BLS) certified

  • Must have at least 5 years security experience, preferably in a hospital or similar institution. Supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Be certified in the use of Defensive Equipment within 120 days from date of hire.

  • Must be Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified or be able to acquire this certification within 120 days from date of hire

  • Must be a Special Police Officer (SPO) or must be able to acquire a Special Police Commission from the State of Maryland within 6 months from date of hire

  • Must have professional certification, such as Certified Protection Officer (CPO) or International Association for Healthcare & Security (IAHSS) or be able to acquire either of these certifications within 9 months from date of hire.

  • Must have the attributes of a leader. Must be able to communicate and interact well with all levels of management, staff and others.

  • Must be able to perform all tasks required of a security officer.

Preferred:

  • Education: Associates degree is strongly preferred.
