Occupational Therapy Job description

• Assess individual functional skills in Activities of Daily Living, Functional transfers, Functional mobility, and Cognitive abilities.

• Recommend appropriate discharge destination based on functional skills assessment.

• Knowledgeable about treating conditions resulting from variety of causes such as various neurological, Cardiac, pulmonary, orthopedic conditions along with accidents and falls.

• Ability to instruct Activities of Daily Living techniques to both patient, family and caregivers for skill and safety.

• Recommend equipment for individuals and suggest adaptation of that equipment to individual’s work-living environment.

• Collaborate and communicate with various health care professionals in order to effectively and successfully treat our clients.

• Supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistants and Mobility aides.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university is required

• License to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of New Jersey is required

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required

• Acute Care experience is preferred

  Hackettstown Medical Center has been providing care to the community since 1973, primarily serving Warren, Sussex and Morris Counties in New Jersey. From preventive services and outpatient testing, to care for minor injuries and life-threatening illness, we offer a wide range of services to keep our local population healthy.
