GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Responsible for the monitoring and supervision of defendants placed on probation to ensure compliance
with and completion of Court-ordered conditions.
Essential Duties:
1. Conduct initial intake interview with probationer to assess probationers risks and needs, review
terms and conditions of probation and Court-ordered conditions, and establish a supervision plan
designed to reduce recidivism.
2. Maintain accurate contact, employment, and other related demographic information for probationer.
3. Schedule regular reporting times to review probationers compliance with terms and conditions of
probation and Court-ordered conditions, including but not limited to completion of alternative
sentencing programs, inpatient or outpatient treatment, community service, and payment of fines and
costs.
4. Schedule and administer random drug and alcohol testing for probationers.
5. Establish and maintain relationships with community resource providers and make appropriate
referrals to probationers based upon risks and needs.
6. Document complete and accurate information into the Courts case management system,
CONTEXTE, pertaining to all contact with probationer, probationers compliance with terms and
conditions of probation, results of drug and alcohol testing, payment of fines and costs, and any
other matters pertaining to a probationers probationary term.
7. Provide complete and accurate reporting to the Court regarding probationers progress and
compliance with probation.
8. Attend and provide reporting to the Court for Specialty Court staffing and docket settings.
9. Perform periodic reporting to Court Administration regarding monitoring activities, probationer
caseloads, program compliance, and probationers progress.
10. Perform other duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, specialized schooling and/or on the job
education in probationary services or equivalent combination of education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to communicate professionally with probationers, Court staff, Judges, and other members of the
public
USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT, AND/OR COMPUTERS
Regular use of computer software programs.
Accessing local, state, and federal court records for probationers
Entering data and documentation into a case management date base
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS
Ability to maintain spread sheets, collect data, multi-task, schedule probationer check-in and random
drug and alcohol screenings, as well as pay attention to detail.
