Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct in-depth assessment of applicants to determine eligibility and appropriateness for enrollment in CC of IDAHOs Employment & Training programs.
  • Delivery of supportive and training services provided by CC of IDAHOs Employment & Training programs.
  • Recruit potential clients for enrollment in CC of IDAHOs Employment & Training programs.
  • Recruit door-to-door, visit labor camps, farms, schools, churches, community organizations and make other appropriate contacts to inform people of services provided.
  • Be familiar with CC of IDAHOs programs as well as other state, local and community-based agency programs; establish and maintain communication with those agencies.
  • Inform interested persons and the community in general of services available within CC of IDAHO, state, local and community base agencies.
  • Coordinate media and other secondary outreach methods.
  • Keep up with new legislation and issues that affect our target population. Inform and educate interested people as well as the community in general regarding these issues.
  • Assume an advocate role for the low income as well as for migrant and seasonal farm workers.
  • Responsible for documenting activities and submitting reports in a correct and timely fashion.
  • Maintain strict confidence on all information gained while performing the duties of the position with CC of IDAHO.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

  • Required
  • High School degree, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • Fluency in the speaking, reading, and writing of English and Spanish
  • Preferred
  • College course work in sociology or related field
  • Experience in recruitment, outreach, and counseling
  • Knowledge of community organizations and training agencies
  • Membership in the community structure of the target population

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra
