The Corporate Information Services Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Sr. Application Analyst – Cerner Core.
The Sr. Application Analyst supports the implementation of UHS applications. Contributes to design, development, deployment, testing and support of the UHS clinical information systems across all Acute Care Hospitals, including Cerner “core” system functions. Monitors the resolution of maintenance or enhancement issues assigned. Provides technical support to UHS entities as needed. Receives, evaluates, or otherwise addresses Cerner user requests for assistance regarding problems related to IS systems in accordance with department problem resolution and escalation protocols. Coordinates work assignments given in order to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward assignment completion. Shares experience and expertise with other members of team and is viewed as an employee with significant technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities include:
System Maintenance/Support
Establishes and maintains regular communications with Acute Care and Corporate users regarding the description and disposition of user requests for assistance, requiring normal business courtesy and decorum, telephone etiquette, and the ability to ascertain the exact nature of the problem
Independently provides first tier problem analysis with the objective of resolving incidents/tickets and communicating back to the customer
Serves as primary technical liaison to end users for issues related to the Cerner application
Maintains proficiency in IT systems as well as desktop technology
Researches and resolves Customer Support Center Tickets including major application upgrades.
Provides on-call support as scheduled • Establishes and maintains regular communications with user community
Works with external support services, vendors and consultants as needed
System Implementation
Regularly meets with users, vendors, and IS staff to develop/modify system specifications.
Designs and supports solutions for applications and prepares the appropriate documentation
Performs system testing and documentation for all phases of the application development life cycle
Ensures strict adherence to work plans, reporting all serious deviations to management
Performs Q/A on application functionality
Researches and resolves implementation-related Customer Support Center tickets
Administration and Oversight
Effectively trains analysts in performance of their duties as required
Provides technical support and guidance to other team members as required
Maintains Service Excellence principles
Adheres to UHS Service Level and Change Management Policies
Prepares and promptly submits all routine and special reports
Interviews applicants for vacant positions as needed using appropriate interview techniques
Adheres to appropriate UHS Project Management standards
Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, problems
Performs other duties and tasks as required by management
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Five or more years of Information Systems experience.
Three to five years of Cerner Millennium experience.
Significant knowledge of Cerner related projects including design, configuration, testing, deployment, and support of Cerner Core systems. These systems include but are not limited to:
Security
Core Registration
Operations Jobs
Printers/Devices
System Monitoring.
Cerner Production Support Experience Required
Provides guidance to influence adherence to the IT organizational goals and objectives.
General familiarity of user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the healthcare applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Travel Requirements: 5-25% based on projects
