University of Louisville Associate Director, Stewardship (Donor Relations) in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. Grade 9 (Salaried)Position Description:The Associate Director of Donor Relations reports directly to the Director of Communications and Marketing for Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement and will work closely with the leadership team to build and oversee a comprehensive donor relations program that encompasses recognition, acknowledgement, reporting, and experiences for donors of the University. This comprehensive program will include processes and procedures to ensure a multifaceted donor engagement plan that properly recognizes university donors, at all levels, within a customized platform. This position needs to maintain ongoing and active networking with internal and external constituencies; and advise on the facilitation of recognition events and coordinate various activities for donor societies. This position requires the ability to generate creative solutions for recognizing and stewarding donors to advance the university's efforts to maintain and strengthen high-quality individual relationships with donors, and to think strategically about donor engagement.The position requires a self-starter with a vigorous work ethic, sound judgment, the highest level of integrity, and the appropriate professional attitude to work effectively with colleagues, University representatives and partners, and senior University and volunteer leaders. The position will have an affinity for the overall mission in making the University of Louisville a great place to learn, work and invest.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Associate Director will oversee, manage, and lead all aspects of the donor relations program, including, but not limited to, the design and implementation of a comprehensive donor-centric model commensurate with University Advancement’s strategic goals; enhancing and growing the experience/relationship donors have with the university; managing the gift acknowledgment process; and continually enhancing an efficient, easy-to-use, web-based donor portal.Supervise a donor relations team consisting of two Stewardship Specialist II’s (Asst Directors of Donor Relations), and a Communications & Marketing Specialist III who helps with constituent strategy & proposal writing.Work with key leaders and colleagues across campus (within Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement and other units) to ensure the continual growth of the stewardship program is prioritized and communicated effectively with our constituents. This includes reporting accurate information on endowment performance with endowed donors on a regular basis while ensuring that all gifts are acknowledged consistently, appropriately, and in a timely fashion.Serve as the main Donor Relations contact and act as a subject matter expert for stewardship.Be detail-oriented with an understanding of how stewardship complements overall Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement efforts while using a high level of organizational planning skills to encompass excellent interpersonal communication abilities to work efficiently with others for the greater good of the University of Louisville.Take initiative and ownership of projects, while working collaboratively with colleagues.Collaborate and coordinate productively with other internal departments, such as Annual Giving, Events, and Communications and Marketing.Identify, define, and help develop improvements to processes, workflows, and outcomes for donor relations in collaboration with partners across the University.The position requires flexibility and some evenings and weekend work, along with occasional travel, is required.Preferred QualificationsExperience in a higher education environment is preferred.CompetenciesExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and presentation skillsExcellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Sound judgement, initiative, and the ability to collaborate effectively.Please include a cover letter along with your resume in ONE attachment.
