University of Louisville Grounds Equipment Mechanic in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Two years of vocational mechanical and welding training beyond high school, a valid driver's license, two years of experience and experience in small engine repairs. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. Grade 3 (Hourly).Position Description:The Grounds Equipment Mechanic performs preventive maintenance and repair of electrically powered and gasoline and propane and diesel-powered grounds equipment and machines, and small hand and power tools or equipment used in planting, cultivating, and trimming grounds and landscapes. The Mechanic keeps maintenance records on preventive maintenance services performed and repairs completed on all grounds equipment, has accountability for all grounds maintenance small hand and power tolls, and maintains an inventory of parts and supplies for grounds equipment. This position responds to emergency situations and is considered a "critical personnel" position.
