Job Summary and Qualifications

Galen College of Nursing is seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Manager to oversee the operation of our 20+ college retail stores (PURE GALEN) and inventory of student scrubs. The Retail Store Manager will be responsible for driving sales, optimizing profitability, managing product purchasing and overall College inventory and tracking. The Retail Manager will manage Galen’s suppliers, will work directly with Galen’s marketing team in the development of new product design, and support each designated campus operations colleague in the operations at each location. This role requires strong leadership and financial management skills, strategic planning, and a passion for delivering excellence in retail management.

Travel required to visit campuses on a regular basis. Position hours follow Galen’s typical administration hours, which are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30 est.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the operations of 20+ PURE GALEN stores, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to company policies and procedures.

  2. Manage inventory levels, merchandise assortment, and product displays to maximize sales opportunities and minimize stock loss.

  3. Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and achieve revenue targets across all locations.

  4. Manage inventory of student scrubs, based on start goals and clinical rotations.

  5. Train store staff (Welcome Center Coordinators), providing ongoing coaching and development to optimize performance and customer service standards.

  6. Conduct periodic store visits to assess operations, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.

  7. Create necessary sales reports and analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and develop actionable plans to capitalize on them.

  8. Orchestrates product delivery to all campuses, prioritizing the processing of merchandise to the individual campuses.

  9. Work with Marketing Team and vendors for design and apparel creation.

  10. Support new store openings.

  11. Perform other duties and assist as necessary for campus operations success.

Position Requirements:

Education : Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Management, or a related field required.

Special Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of retail management experience, with a proven track record of success in driving sales and profitability.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve results.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail management software. (Netsuite, Shopify)

  • Regular travel to campus locations.

  • Ability to train others.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to be on your feet for an extended period of time.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Desire to learn and grow.
