MWR Petaluma Pool

DUTIES :

Serves as a lifeguard for outdoor pool work under the direction of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Aquatics Program Manager or MWR supervisor.

Employs safety rules for the protection of pool guests. Responsible for life guarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required.

Attending aquatics and/or safety training as directed. Assists in maintaining pool and keeping all areas clean and free from any hazards. Provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures.

Tactfully warns patrons who repeatedly disregard safety rules, and do not follow facility Standard Operating Procedures. Patrons can be asked to leave the facility for not conforming to policy and rules.

Pool rules and regulations are posted in view for all patrons using the facility to review.

The pool and pavilion may at times be rented for parties and family functions and at no time will these functions exceed fifty (50) persons. Maintains accurate daily logs and records as required. Cash collected will be properly accounted for and the paperwork maintained correctly.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

Minimum:

1.Must possess and maintain the following certifications: Lifeguard (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard or Ellis); American Red Cross " Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent (i.e. Star or Ellis); First Aid

2.Must be able to communicate in English (both verbally and in writing).

3.Persons must be at least 16 years old to apply.
