Lake Region Manufacturing, Inc. dba Integer Holdings Corporation seeks a Product Development/Design Engineer in Plymouth, MN. Duties: Initiate, direct, and manage the design and development of new products and processes from concept to commercial manufacturing. Review, initiate or approve engineering drawings, layouts, changes orders and specifications. Plan process flow, evaluate process capability, modify, build and design tooling. Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project. Develop and/or review test procedures and plans prior to implementation, as well as conduct failure analysis and inspection on products, processes and materials. Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making minor adaptations and modifications. Devise new approaches to problems encountered. Prepare all necessary paperwork and documentation for all projects undertaken. Review procedures and plans prior to implementation as well as evaluate existing products, processes and materials for failure analysis and potential improvements. Participate in projects that require you to investigate, develop, document and implement new products and process technologies of moderate complexity and scope. Plan, schedule and execute the engineering work in a part of a major project; or lead a smaller scope project. Perform work on technical projects following company's standard quality management and production system methodologies to investigate opportunities for product and process improvements. Apply standard data analysis practices and techniques to establish root cause for product and process failures or to support the justification for improvements to products and processes. Observe products and processes to recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations throughout a series of detailed steps or processes to establish root cause of the discrepancies. Collaborate with others in the exchange of information, ask questions and regularly check for understanding in support of your development as an engineer. Perform other duties as needed and as directed by line of supervision. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires 5 years (or 3 years with a Master's) of experience in the following: Applying ISO, ASTM, IEC standards, and FDA requirements to develop test methods, procedures, and plans; Developing tooling, fixtures, and equipment used in manufacturing that optimize productivity, maintainability, and cost; Leading equipment qualification and process validation tasks; Creating, reviewing, and approving engineering drawings, layouts, specifications (using 3D CAD software when needed); and Conducting failure analysis and inspection on products, processes and materials. Requires 6 months of experience with Minitab. 40 hours/week.
