Dakota Grit Physical Therapy Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Part-Time in Rapid City, South Dakota

We are currently seeking a qualified and licensed part-time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. Dakota Grit Physical Therapy has been providing the regions most exceptional physical therapy services in the beautiful Black Hills since 2022.

Our patient demographic ranges from 7 years old to over 100, encompassing a wide spectrum of individuals seeking outpatient physical therapy. Our areas of expertise include orthopedic and sports injuries, pre- and post-operative care, as well as injury prevention. Our comprehensive services encompass specialized programs tailored to cater to the unique needs of each patient, encompassing diverse groups such as workers' compensation patients, geriatric individuals, athletes, and non-athletes alike.

In the role of a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work closely under the guidance and direction of a seasoned Physical Therapist. Your responsibilities will encompass implementing and overseeing the execution of treatment plans, as prescribed by the Physical Therapist. You will actively engage in interventions aimed at improving and enhancing the overall well-being of our patients, diligently monitoring their progress through ongoing evaluations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective instruction and guidance to patients regarding prescribed exercises.
  • Identify patients' individual needs and demonstrate compassion, care, and empathy throughout the therapeutic process.
  • Make recommendations for appropriate treatment options, courses of action, or adjustments to selected therapies to ensure patient progress, safety, and comfort.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research pertaining to restoring physical function, minimizing symptom frequency, and preventing injuries.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation to support the delivery of high-quality physical therapy services.
  • Conduct relevant data collection and ensure the acquisition of precise and reliable patient information.
  • Assess and record the patient's progress on their medical record, including performance measurements.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical and legal standards governing the practice of physical therapy.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to ensure continued competence and stay up-to-date with advancements in the field.

    Skills:

  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of physiological principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in conducting hands-on therapeutic exercises, functional training, and utilizing various physical modalities.
  • Strong communication and instructional abilities, enabling effective interaction with patients.
  • Competence in healthcare administration and adeptness in accurate documentation practices.
  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Familiarity with working in a paperless environment.
  • Recommended basic computer skills to navigate and utilize the necessary software platforms effectively.

    Education/ Experience:

  • Graduate of an Accredited PTA School: We require candidates to have successfully completed a program from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant school, ensuring a solid foundation of knowledge and skills in the field.
  • State License: Possession of a valid license issued by the State of South Dakota is a requirement for this position. This ensures compliance with the legal and regulatory standards governing the practice of Physical Therapist Assistants.
