Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):

$23.100 - $28.514 - $34.217

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

To provide administrative support to ensure the Department's success. This position works closely with patients, physicians, clinical staff, and support personnel throughout Sharp HealthCare. Key responsibilities may include reception, scheduling, phone management, and medical record coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent

  • 2 Years in an imaging setting.

Essential Functions

  • DocumentationAccurately completes necessary paperwork and other documentation needed to obtain authorization.Communicates professionally with appropriate health care organization.Documents authorization appropriately, i.e. IDXRAD, Medical Record, etc.Provides Billing Department with requested authorization informationRequests retroactive authorizations when deemed appropriateMeets time requirements as outlined by ordering provider.Stays current with all health plan authorization requirements and changes.Identify patient health insurance with corresponding plan code.Identify all "Self Pay" patients.

  • Receptionist dutiesGreets patient and their family members in a professional and caring manner.Manages phone calls professionally by answering each call promptly and identifies self to caller using department approved greeting.Prioritizes job functions as necessary.Cares for patients and family members professionally and with respect, assisting them as needed.Manages flow of patient records by verifying demographics, MPI Registration and arriving patient in IDXRAD.Utilizes proper "scripting" with patients as deemed appropriateMaintains a clean and orderly waiting area.

  • SchedulingUtilizes IDXRAD and EHR to review orders for accuracy, schedule appointments and update demographics.Clearly communicates appointment times, place and preps to patient, family members or healthcare providers.Requests written or electronic order and pertinent supporting documents. ie: H&P, Contrast Form.Requests comparison films when appropriate.Notifies appropriate parties of upcoming appointments by providing printed schedule as needed.Prospectively reviews schedules for accuracy, capacity, "no shows", cancellations and rescheduled appointments.

  • TeamworkAssists at other radiology sites to maintain adequate staffing.Demonstrates responsiveness to physician's needs in maintaining an efficient schedule and quality service to the patient.Prioritize assignments effectively by setting work goals and objectives in consultation with others.

  • Time managementAssist co-workers with their tasks.Maintain a safe and neat work environment.Inform supervisor or lead when available for additional work assignments.Assist in training new employees.Completes department maintenance tasks daily. Prepares workstation at the beginning of shift, cleans up area at the end of shift.Communicates status of workstation to work partner at the end of shift.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate clearly, politely, accurately and tactfully; both orally and in writing.

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.

  • Computer skills.

  • Strong customer service skills.
