The Finance Manager will be responsible for financial management of key areas of NBC’s production of the Olympic Games as well as Sports & Olympics on air talent. The manager will be an integral partner with Olympics Production and Operations team in the budgeting, reporting, analysis, payment and controllership of their budgets. They will become an expert in all matters regarding SCORE reporting of position metrics, spend, cost trends and variance analysis of games time travel and pay. The Finance Manager will be responsible for financial management of On-Air Talent regarding payroll and reporting. They will partner closely with the Production Finance team to ensure talent costs are communicated and aligned with NBC Sports’ programming budgets.
Responsibilities:
Olympics Production
Collaborate with Production and Operations team to build financial plan
Assist with financial roll ups by identifying risk and opportunities, reporting variances, meeting cost targets and pacing foreign cash spend
Review and approve Pcard purchases
Deliver on FP&A and Controllership requirements – monthly closing, pacing, estimates and assigned responsibilities
SCORE
Lead on reporting and variance analysis on all Olympics games time travel and pay in SCORE
Assist with approving games time payment including talent
Participate in building Olympics event module for each game for financial and production planning
Talent
Management of On-Air Talent payroll including the calculation and reporting of union earnings, contributions and upgrades
Maintenance of talent database to ensure contract administration details are current
Partner closely with Production finance team to communicate cost and changes for budget tracking
Prepare the AFTRA and DGA audit requests from Payroll and Labor relations
Implement process improvements to streamline and enhance current workflow
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
5+ years of finance, accounting, or business analysis experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SAP
Strong technical aptitude, communications and interpersonal skills
Must be highly organized and process/detail-oriented
Strong analytical, communications and strategic thinking skills. Ability to analyze current processes, define and implement improvements
Strong time-management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of and commitment to controllership principles
Background in accounting and close cycles
