Title:  Packaging Engineer

This is a full-time position that includes responsibilities of Packaging Engineer for 2^nd^ or 3^rd^ shift

Responsibilities:

  • Handles the complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testing
  • Fixes new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials, processes and provides creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions
  • Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications of product to resolve physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging
  • Establishes standards and guidelines for supplier evaluation. Evaluates and selects packaging suppliers/ vendors; periodically conducts vendor reviews.
  • Handles multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Works closely with global suppliers, engineering, product management, operations, and sourcing
  • Participates in product introduction teams to deliver new products to market.

Skills Required:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Package Engineering and 2+ years of related experience
  • High level of analytical ability to solve unusual and complex problems
  • Must have the ability to make timely day to day decisions based on data and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • High customer centric focus incl. attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and alongside supplier personnel/other contractors in a cross­functional environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong to advanced computer skills - MS Excel, Outlook, Access
  • Primarily a second or third shift position but business may dictate otherwise as needed

Skills Preferred:

  • Profound knowledge of CCA packaging operations processes
  • Familiarity with the CCA warehouse network
  • Demonstrated competency using MS Access, Power Bl at an intermediate to advanced level
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Ability to work independently with flexible work hours to support all shift operations
